The most effective approach for using the HeatTrak mats is to switch them on before the snowfall. Doing so prevents water accumulation when the snow melts, as the snowflakes evaporate upon contact with the mat. However, turning the mats on after snowfall is also possible. In this case, allow the mat a few hours to melt through the snow. When the snow melts, there will be a minor water run-off, which will flow under the surrounding snow. Additionally, small puddles may form on the mat until the water completely evaporates. Rest assured, these puddles will be beneath the non-slip surface, eliminating any slip hazard. Eventually, all the water will evaporate.
